Summary
Could you put together a couple of paragraphs on the way you feel or do not feel the LLIP seminars impacted on your area of work. Were there any points in the seminars which were particularly important?
Were there any points that you think need following through for sustainability …
Since IUG conducted all the workshops and seminars in Gaza, we did not have an outside view from outside and this was due to the difficulties to travel in and out of Gaza. The seminars brought people from various aspect of life: it involved entrepreneurs, young leaders, public figures, researches, experts, women, NGOs, government, and academics. The issues were discussed on a national level. It opened the doors for future cooperation and showed the needs for working together.
The leadership seminar showed the style of leadership under stressful condition and during a belligerent occupation. It also showed the role of women and young people in leading society. The culture was very rich workshop and involved several true players and showed how much of work is still needed. The economic seminar led to a national view and will establish a national view on the road ahead and how to build a surviving economy under occupation and siege. It also showed the importance of planning ahead. The pedagogy and learning society introduced the universities to the terminology of lifelong learning and showed the need for future research on this topic.
I think we just scratched the surface and we need to continue on this path. When IUG team visited Ireland, it showed how much we can do to establish peace on our region and build a future for our kids and lead our nation towards prosperity.
