Seminars delivered by Hatem Elaydi / on Culture and Collective Memory   on May 6th, 2013 at Gaza Museum, Gaza

 

Outcomes

1.      Engaged discussion on efforts, future and cooperation among various players in the area of culture, heritage, and oral history where they.

2.      Participants became aware of great initiatives on Oral history and culture .

3.      Great ideas were shared in developing culture in Gaza and how to overcome obstacles  were also discussed.

4.      Some publications on Gaza cultural and heritage were presented.

5.      A new film on Gaza Crafts and heritage was produced, presented and is available on the website.

6.      Recorded materials on the Seminar and interviews

Feedback of relevance to sustaining the project of Lifelong Learning in Palestine beyond the project ?

1.      Promoting of the children's identity and storytelling.

2.      Developing training courses to document the history and cultural heritage

Seminars delivered by Fahid Rabah / on Economic Issues  May 12th, 2013 at Laterna Restaurant , Gaza

 

Outcomes

1.      Greater understanding of entrepreneurs and their roles in creating job opportunities.

2.      Participants became aware of the employment and unemployment status in Palestine and Gaza.

3.      Success stories of creating job opportunities were presented.

4.      Recorded materials on the Seminar and interviews with key people.

Seminars delivered by Hala Khozondar / on Pedagogy May 13th, 2013 at Islamic University of Gaza

 

Outcomes

1.      Sharing of pedagogy at various locations in Gaza Strip

2.      Recorded material on pedagogy

3.      Great understanding of terminology related to pedagogy

4.      The seminar presented a new view on pedagogy.

Feedback of relevance to sustaining the project of Lifelong Learning in Palestine beyond the project ?

1.      All agree in adopting new trends of pedagogy in delivering the Palestinian curricula

2.      Ideas were discussed in building new type of schools that are student-centered

3.      Universities agreed to include lifelong learning in their missions

4.      Common Language in pedagogy led to education faculties to plan new research work on the topic.

Any points that should feed into the final report?

1.      The presentation is on the website and the workshop is recorded and also on the website

2.      The kind of cooperation among Gaza universities was great and showed room for future cooperation with Europe on Pedagogy.

Seminars delivered by Hatem Elaydi / on Learning Society May 13th, 2013 at Islamic University of Gaza

 

Outcomes

1.      Better understanding of the characteristics of a learning society

2.      Recorded material on learning society as learning resources

3.      Great understanding of terminology related to learning society

4.      The seminar opened the door for future cooperation among researchers.

Feedback of relevance to sustaining the project of Lifelong Learning in Palestine beyond the project ?

1.      The Palestinian developed various learning societies under harsh circumstances such as Israeli prisons, curfews, intifada, etc

2.      Universities agreed to include lifelong learning in their missions

3.      Developing leadership to build learning societies included women, youth, and support groups.

Any points that should feed into the final report?

1.      The presentation is on the website and the workshop is recorded and also on the website

2.      Previous experience in building learning society: Prison life (Josef University, Deportees University, Learning during the Intifada, ...)

4.      Better understanding of gender, youth and leadership.

Feedback of relevance to sustaining the project of Lifelong Learning in Palestine beyond the project ?

1.      Strengthening the role of spirituality in building leadership on lifelong learning.

2.      Building community leadership to support integrating lifelong learning in the community.

3.      Developing leadership to build learning societies included women, youth, and support groups.

Examples of University Leadership facing siege and occupation and the building of Palestinian educational system.
